Base Oil Group – I
Bright Stock 150

Description:
Bright Stock 150 is a very high-viscosity Group I base oil derived from residual fractions of vacuum distillation and refined through solvent extraction, dewaxing, and hydrofinishing. It is characterized by its exceptional viscosity, excellent load-carrying capability, and strong film-forming properties. Bright Stock 150 is primarily used in formulating heavy-duty lubricants, marine cylinder oils, industrial greases, and gear oils that operate under severe conditions.

Production Process:

  • Vacuum Distillation: Extracts heavier hydrocarbon fractions
  • Solvent Refining & Dewaxing: Removes impurities and improves pour point
  • Hydrofinishing: Enhances oxidative stability, color, and cleanliness

Key Technical Properties (Typical Values):

  • Viscosity @ 100°C: ~28–34 cSt
  • Viscosity Index (VI): 95–105
  • Flash Point (COC): >260°C
  • Pour Point: -3°C to -6°C
  • Color (ASTM D1500): L3.5–L5.0
  • Sulfur Content: >0.03%
  • Density @ 15°C: ~0.900–0.920 kg/L
  • Aromatic Content: Moderate – enhances solvency and compatibility

Benefits:

  • Extremely high viscosity for applications requiring thick lubrication films
  • Excellent load-carrying and anti-wear protection in high-pressure systems
  • Stable at high temperatures with good oxidation resistance
  • Strong solvency for dispersing additive packages and contaminants
  • Enhances viscosity index and film strength when blended with lighter base oils

Applications:

  • Marine: Cylinder oils and slow-speed diesel engine lubricants
  • Automotive: High-viscosity gear and transmission oils
  • Industrial: Open gear lubricants, heavy-duty hydraulic oils
  • Greases: Base fluid for calcium, lithium, and complex soap greases
  • Metalworking: High-load cutting oils and rolling oils
  • Blending Component: Used to increase viscosity in multigrade formulations

Packaging Options:

  • Available in bulk, flexitanks, 200-liter drums, and IBCs
  • Custom packaging and blending services available upon request

Compliance & Standards:

  • Conforms to API Group I classification
  • Compatible with Group I and Group II base oils for blending
  • Supports lubricant formulations designed to meet marine, industrial, and OEM standards
