HiTEC® 11500 – Premium PCMO Additive Package

Description

HiTEC® 11500 is a premium passenger car motor oil additive package developed by Afton Chemical for the formulation of modern low-viscosity gasoline engine oils. Designed to support advanced fuel-efficient lubricant formulations, HiTEC® 11500 enables the development of SAE 0W-20, 5W-20, and 5W-30 engine oils using high-quality Group III and Group IV base stocks.

Formulated to deliver balanced engine protection and performance, HiTEC® 11500 provides excellent wear protection, oxidation resistance, deposit control, and low-temperature performance. Its versatile formulation supports the production of high-performance passenger car engine oils that meet the demanding requirements of modern gasoline-powered vehicles while maintaining fuel economy benefits and engine cleanliness. Typical formulations utilizing HiTEC® 11500 achieve Total Base Number (TBN) values ranging from approximately 7.6 to 8.7 mg KOH/g, depending on the selected formulation.

Performance Features

  • Supports formulation of SAE 0W-20, 5W-20, and 5W-30 passenger car motor oils
  • Provides excellent oxidation resistance and thermal stability
  • Delivers strong wear protection for modern gasoline engines
  • Promotes engine cleanliness and deposit control
  • Supports fuel-efficient low-viscosity lubricant formulations
  • Excellent low-temperature cranking and pumpability characteristics
  • Compatible with Group III and Group IV synthetic base oils
  • Suitable for formulations requiring advanced passenger car engine oil performance

Applications

  • Passenger car gasoline engines
  • Modern fuel-efficient vehicles requiring low-viscosity engine oils
  • Passenger cars, SUVs, and light-duty commercial vehicles
  • Synthetic and semi-synthetic engine oil formulations
  • OEM-recommended SAE 0W-20, 5W-20, and 5W-30 lubricant applications

Recommended Dosage

Typical treat rates are approximately 13.1% by weight, depending on the target viscosity grade, base oil selection, and performance requirements. Additional viscosity index improvers, such as HiTEC® 5748 ND-OCP, and pour point depressants, such as HiTEC® 672, may be required to achieve the desired finished lubricant performance characteristics.

Blending and Storage

  • Blend with appropriate base oils and supporting additives under controlled manufacturing conditions
  • Ensure thorough mixing and homogeneous dispersion during blending
  • Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area
  • Protect from moisture, contamination, and direct sunlight
  • Follow standard lubricant additive handling and storage practices

Packaging
