Description:
N600 is a very high-viscosity Group II base oil produced via hydrocracking and severe hydrotreating of high-quality paraffinic crude oil. With its strong film-forming capability, excellent oxidative stability, and low sulfur content, N600 is ideally suited for use in heavy-duty lubricants, industrial gear oils, marine oils, and grease production. Its high viscosity makes it particularly effective in formulations that require enhanced load protection and thermal stability.
Production Process:
Hydrocracking / Hydrotreating: Deeply saturates the oil, removing aromatics and sulfur for improved cleanliness and oxidation resistance
Isodewaxing: Improves pour point and cold-flow behavior
Hydrofinishing: Polishes the oil for color stability, purity, and extended service life
Key Technical Properties (Typical Values):
Viscosity @ 100°C: ~14.0–16.5 cSt
Viscosity Index (VI): 105–115
Flash Point (COC): >250°C
Pour Point: -9°C to -15°C
Color (ASTM D1500): L0.5–L1.0 (water-clear)
Sulfur Content: ≤ 0.03%
Saturates: ≥ 90%
Oxidation Stability: Excellent under severe thermal conditions
Volatility: Low – supports high-temperature performance
Benefits:
Superior film strength for protection under heavy load and high temperature
Outstanding oxidative and thermal stability for extended lubricant life
Low volatility and sulfur content reduce emissions and oil consumption
High purity ensures excellent additive solubility and compatibility
Ideal for enhancing viscosity in multi-grade lubricant formulations
Reliable performance in severe-duty automotive and industrial systems
Applications:
Heavy-Duty Engine Oils (HDEO): Blending component for high-viscosity and shear-stable formulations
Marine and Railway Oils: For use in large engines operating under extreme mechanical stress
Industrial Gear Oils: Where strong film strength and thermal resistance are critical
Grease Manufacturing: Base fluid for calcium, lithium, and complex soap greases
Metalworking Fluids: High-load cutting and forming oil formulations
Process & Blending Base: Used to increase viscosity in multigrade oils or adjust formulation balance
