Description:
SN 350 Group II is a highly refined hydrotreated paraffinic base oil that offers improved purity, higher oxidative stability, and better low-temperature properties compared to conventional Group I SN 350. Produced through advanced hydrotreating or hydrocracking processes, it is free from impurities such as sulfur and aromatics, resulting in a colorless, thermally stable base stock ideal for high-performance automotive and industrial lubricants.
Production Process:
Hydrotreating/Hydrocracking: Deep saturation of aromatics and removal of sulfur for improved chemical stability
Isodewaxing: Enhances low-temperature performance and pour point
Hydrofinishing: Final polishing step that enhances color, stability, and filterability
Key Technical Properties (Typical Values):
Viscosity @ 100°C: ~6.5–7.2 cSt
Viscosity Index (VI): 105–120
Flash Point (COC): >220°C
Pour Point: -12°C to -18°C
Color (ASTM D1500): L0.5–L1.0 (water-clear)
Sulfur Content: ≤ 0.03%
Saturates: ≥ 90%
Oxidation Stability: Excellent
Volatility: Low, improving oil consumption and emissions performance
Benefits:
High thermal and oxidative stability for extended lubricant life
Superior low-temperature fluidity improves cold start protection
Ultra-low sulfur content contributes to cleaner combustion
High saturate content enhances resistance to oxidation and sludge
