Description:
Group III – 8 cSt is a high-viscosity synthetic-grade base oil, produced through severe hydrocracking, hydroisomerization, and hydrofinishing of premium paraffinic crude. With a kinematic viscosity of approximately 8 centistokes at 100°C and a very high viscosity index (typically ≥ 130), this base stock provides excellent thermal stability, oxidation resistance, and film strength. It is ideally suited for heavy-duty engine oils, gear oils, and industrial lubricants where durability and performance under extreme load and temperature are required.
Production Process:
Severe Hydrocracking & Isomerization: Yields a highly saturated, stable molecular structure
Hydrofinishing: Enhances oxidation resistance, improves clarity, and ensures consistent blend quality
Precision Fractionation: Delivers tight viscosity control and consistent performance across batches
Key Technical Properties (Typical Values):
Kinematic Viscosity @ 100°C: ~7.8–8.5 cSt
Viscosity Index (VI): ≥ 130
Flash Point (COC): >240°C
Pour Point: -18°C to -24°C
Color (ASTM D1500): L0.5 (water-clear)
Sulfur Content: ≤ 0.03%
Saturates: ≥ 90%
Volatility (NOACK): Low – supports stable performance under heat
Oxidation Stability: Excellent – suitable for long-drain and high-temperature service
Benefits:
Superior film strength and viscosity retention under high load and temperature
Low volatility reduces oil consumption and supports emissions control
Excellent oxidative and thermal stability for extended drain intervals
Strong additive response and compatibility with synthetic and semi-synthetic systems
High purity ensures clean burning and deposit control
Water-clear appearance for consistent, high-quality formulations
Applications:
