Description:
PAO 40 cSt is a very high-viscosity synthetic base oil from the Group IV (Polyalphaolefin) family, produced by the polymerization of linear alpha-olefins (usually 1-decene). Engineered for exceptional performance, PAO 40 offers outstanding thermal and oxidative stability, excellent shear resistance, and a very high viscosity index, making it the base stock of choice for demanding heavy-duty engine oils, industrial gear oils, greases, and specialty lubricants. Its uniform molecular structure ensures consistent lubrication under extreme mechanical stress and temperature.
Production Process:
Oligomerization of Alpha-Olefins: Produces uniform synthetic hydrocarbon molecules with controlled chain length
Hydrogenation: Saturates molecules, enhancing chemical stability and purity
Precision Fractionation: Ensures tight viscosity control and product consistency
Key Technical Properties (Typical Values):
