Description:
PAO 8 is a Group IV synthetic base oil manufactured through the oligomerization and hydrogenation of linear alpha-olefins, typically 1-decene. With a kinematic viscosity of approximately 8 cSt at 100°C, it offers an excellent balance between fluidity, film strength, and thermal stability, making it ideal for high-performance automotive and industrial lubricants.
PAO 8 delivers exceptional oxidative and thermal resistance, a very high viscosity index, and excellent low-temperature properties, ensuring consistent performance across a wide operating temperature range. Its shear stability and compatibility with various additives and base stocks make it a versatile component in both monograde and multigrade lubricant formulations.
Key Performance Features:
High viscosity index – ensures minimal viscosity change across temperature extremes
Outstanding oxidative and thermal stability – enables extended drain intervals
Excellent low-temperature properties – ensures cold-start protection
Low volatility – minimizes oil consumption and emissions
Excellent compatibility with Group I, II, III, IV, and V base oils and common additive systems
Non-toxic, colorless, and odorless
Applications:
Synthetic engine oils (PCMO, HDEO) requiring enhanced viscosity control
Gear oils and transmission fluids for automotive and industrial equipment
Turbine and compressor lubricants operating under high loads
