HiTEC® 12200 – Heavy-Duty Diesel Engine Oil Additive Package

HiTEC® 12200 is a high-performance additive package developed by Afton Chemical for the formulation of heavy-duty diesel engine oils. Designed to meet a broad range of international and OEM performance standards, HiTEC® 12200 supports the formulation of oils that meet API CI-4, CH-4, and earlier service categories, while also offering limited gasoline engine compatibility where mixed-fleet applications are common.

Formulated for use with Group I and Group II base stocks, HiTEC® 12200 provides excellent wear protection, soot dispersancy, piston cleanliness, and oxidation control, making it ideal for both on-road and off-road diesel engines operating under severe conditions. Its proven performance profile also supports extended drain intervals and improved engine durability in high-output engines.

Recommended Dosage
Typical treat rates range from 9.7% to 11.5% by weight, depending on the desired API performance category, base oil selection, and target application. Additional viscosity modifier and pour point depressant additives may be required for multigrade formulations.

Blending and Storage

• Blend at temperatures up to 70 °C with continuous agitation
• Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated environment
• Protect from moisture, contaminants, and direct sunlight
• Shelf life: 24 months when stored in original sealed containers under proper conditions
