HiTEC® 12204L – HDEO Additive Package

HiTEC® 12204L is a high-performance heavy-duty diesel engine oil (HDEO) additive package developed as part of Afton’s 12200 product family. It is engineered to meet the demands of modern diesel engines operating under severe conditions, including vehicles equipped with EGR systems and fleets running in harsh environments, heavy loads, low-quality fuel, and extreme climates.

Formulated to enable the blending of lubricants meeting API CI-4 Plus SAE 15W-40, HiTEC® 12204L delivers exceptional soot handling, wear protection, oxidation resistance, and deposit control. It ensures stable viscosity throughout the drain interval, extends engine life, and maintains power by preventing harmful sludge and piston deposits. The product has been field-tested in demanding real-world conditions and has demonstrated the capability to support extended oil drain intervals up to 50,000 km depending on field conditions and OEM guidance.
