HiTEC® 2030 is a high-performance non-silicon defoamer component developed by Afton Chemical for use in a variety of lubricating oil formulations, including gear oils, engine oils, and transmission fluids. It is specifically designed to provide effective foam control without the drawbacks associated with traditional silicone-based antifoam agents, such as filter clogging or sensor interference.
HiTEC® 2030 enables formulators to meet stringent foaming requirements while preserving filterability and compatibility with additive systems. Its non-silicon nature makes it especially valuable in systems where silicone is restricted or undesirable, including industrial and automotive applications.
Performance Features
- Excellent foam control in gear oils, engine oils, and transmission fluids
- Non-silicon chemistry avoids issues with filters and sensors
- Compatible with a wide range of lubricant additive systems
- Aids compliance with industry foam standards (e.g., ASTM D892)
- Supports clean blending and stable long-term performance
Applications
- Automotive and industrial gear oils, including limited-slip
- Passenger car and heavy-duty engine oils
- Manual and automatic transmission fluids (MTF, ATF)
- Systems where silicone defoamers are restricted
- Blends requiring improved foam control and filterability
Recommended Treat Rate
- Typical treat rate: 0.05% to 0.15% by weight
- Dosage depends on formulation requirements, base oil quality, and target foam performance
- Should be added early in the blending process to ensure uniform dispersion
Blending and Storage
- Blend at up to 60–70 °C with sufficient agitation
- Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area
- Avoid moisture contamination and direct heat exposure
- Shelf life: 24 months when stored in unopened, original containers under proper conditions
Packaging
HiTEC® 2030 is available in 200 kg drums, IBCs, or in bulk, depending on customer and regional requirements.
