Infineum P5096 is a versatile performance additive package developed by Infineum for the formulation of mainstream gasoline engine lubricants. Designed to cover both current and obsolete API gasoline engine oil performance categories, Infineum P5096 is formulated for use with appropriate performance boosters and Infineum viscosity modifiers in Group I and Group II base oils, enabling the formulation of a wide range of multigrade and monograde engine oils.
Formulated to provide reliable engine protection and balanced performance, Infineum P5096 delivers excellent wear protection, oxidation resistance, deposit control, and engine cleanliness for passenger car gasoline engines. Its flexible formulation supports lubricant manufacturers in producing engine oils across multiple API service categories while maintaining dependable performance in a variety of viscosity grades.
Performance Features
- Supports formulation of engine oils meeting API SL, SJ, SH, SG, SF, SE, SD, SC, SB, CF, CF-2, CF-4, CD, CC, and CB performance levels when used with the appropriate Infineum performance booster.
- Suitable for both current and legacy gasoline engine oil specifications
- Provides excellent wear protection and engine cleanliness
- Strong oxidation resistance and thermal stability
- Helps control sludge and deposit formation
- Compatible with Group I and Group II base oils
- Supports both monograde and multigrade engine oil formulations
- Designed for use with Infineum viscosity modifiers and performance boosters to achieve target specifications
Applications
- Passenger car gasoline engine oils
- Light-duty gasoline-powered vehicles
- Mixed gasoline and light-duty diesel engine oil formulations where applicable
- Monograde and multigrade engine oil formulations
- Lubricants formulated to current and legacy API gasoline engine oil categories
Recommended Dosage
Typical treat rates vary according to the target performance level. Typical dosage levels include:
- 6.4 wt% for API SL/SJ
- 5.0 wt% for API SH/SG/CD
- 4.5 wt% for API SF/CF and API SF/SE/CD
- 3.1 wt% for API CF
- 2.3 wt% for API SD/SC/CC
- 2.0 wt% for API SB/CB
Depending on the target specification, additional treatment with Infineum C9330 performance booster and suitable Infineum viscosity modifiers is required to achieve the desired API performance level and finished lubricant formulation.
Blending and Storage
- Blend using approved Group I or Group II base oils with appropriate Infineum viscosity modifiers and performance boosters.
- Avoid localized overheating during heating, particularly when agitation is not available.
- Use electrical, steam, or hot-oil heating systems with a self-limiting maximum temperature not exceeding 120 °C (250 °F).
- Minimum loading/unloading temperature: 55 °C (131 °F)
- Maximum loading/unloading temperature: 65 °C (149 °F)
- Maximum storage temperature: 65 °C (149 °F)
- Do not reheat above 65 °C (149 °F).
- Store in clean, dry conditions and protect from contamination.
