Infineum SV261 is a premium viscosity modifier concentrate developed by Infineum for the formulation of high-performance multigrade engine oils. Manufactured from Infineum SV260, a hydrogenated styrene-diene star polymer, Infineum SV261 is designed to meet the demanding performance requirements of modern diesel and gasoline engine lubricants. Its highly concentrated formulation offers excellent compatibility with commonly used base oils while providing the highest polymer content and viscosity that can be readily handled in most blending facilities.
Engineered for advanced lubricant formulations, Infineum SV261 delivers outstanding permanent shear stability, excellent low-temperature performance when used with appropriate pour point depressants, and an optimal contribution to high-temperature viscosity. When combined with Infineum detergent-inhibitor (DI) additive packages, it enables the formulation of durable, fuel-efficient lubricants that maintain viscosity under severe operating conditions and extended service intervals.

- Synthetic and semi-synthetic lubricant formulations
- Industrial lubricant formulations requiring viscosity index improvement
- Engine oils designed to meet modern OEM and industry performance requirements
Recommended Dosage
Typical treat rates vary depending on the target SAE viscosity grade, base oil selection, and finished lubricant performance requirements. The required dosage should be determined during formulation development to achieve the desired viscosity and shear stability characteristics.
Blending and Storage
- Blend under controlled manufacturing conditions with continuous agitation where possible.
- Avoid localized overheating during heating, particularly when the product cannot be agitated.
- Use electrical, steam, or hot-oil heating systems with a self-limiting maximum temperature not exceeding 120 °C (250 °F).
- Avoid contact with free water when handling the product above 95 °C (205 °F), as moisture can adversely affect product quality.
- Maximum storage temperature (over two months): 60 °C (140 °F)
- Recommended loading/unloading temperature: 85–115 °C (185–239 °F)
- Do not reheat above 100 °C (212 °F).
