Description
OZ 08 – PPD (LX250) is a highly effective pour point depressant designed to ensure optimal flow performance of automotive lubricants in low-temperature environments. It provides a cost-effective solution for achieving excellent cold-weather fluidity across a wide range of base stocks, including Group I and Group II oils. Its versatile formulation enables use in engine oils, gear oils, hydraulic fluids, and transmission fluids, ensuring improved cold-start performance and low-temperature pumpability.
Performance Features
- Significantly lowers pour point of base oils and finished lubricants
- Improves low-temperature fluidity and cold cranking performance
- Fully soluble in all new-generation base stocks
- Compatible with all standard additive components
- Enhances rheological properties such as MRV TP-1 and Brookfield viscosity
- Provides strong performance even at low treat rates
Applications
- Engine oils (monograde and multigrade)
- Gear oils
- Hydraulic and transmission fluids
- Lubricants requiring stringent low-temperature performance
Typical Dosages
- Engine Oils: 1 – 0.5% w/w
- Gear Oils: 2 – 1.5% w/w
- Dosage varies depending on desired pour point reduction and base stock used.
Typical Properties
- Form: Organic viscous liquid
- Color: Yellow to amber
- Specific Gravity @25°C: 0.86 – 0.90
- Flash Point: >120°C
- Kinematic Viscosity @100°C: >100 cSt
Effect on Oil Properties
At typical treat rates, OZ 08 – PPD LX250 provides:
- Strong positive effect on pour point, MRV TP-1 viscosity, Brookfield viscosity, and kinematic viscosity at low temperatures
- Negligible impact on viscosity index, CCS viscosity, and shear stability
Packaging and Storage
- Packaging: Supplied in industrial containers (e.g., 200 kg drums)
- Storage: Keep in a cool, dry place below 45°C for long-term stability; avoid exposure above 75°C during short-term handling
- Compatible with common lubricant additives and maintains stability under recommended storage conditions
